You must Practice to Feel Peoples Pain

Some animals are good with body language, people can be harder to read. That is why Miss Mingle practices feeling peoples pain to understand their needs. The shorter path to reaching your goals is understanding other peoples needs. And then trying to help them: Connecting him to a relevant expert. Give him a book or article with valuable insight about his need or a solution to it.

How Will Ms Mingle go About Understanding a Persons Need?

She cannot ask “so what are your needs today Mr. Hansen?” Rather she must listen carefully between the lines when he is talking about his work and hobbies. She may catch some signals about discontent or areas where he wants improvement. She is prepared to not find any needs the first times she tries. She knows needs catching is a skill she needs to practice for a long time. Ms Mingle also knows she has a natural advantage as her female brain has a larger frontal lobe, which is the part working with relationships and body language.

Tasks of the Week

  1. You can practice on somebody you know. Write down the names of three people you will meet during the day. Use your questions from the previous weeks. Listen for signals between the lines, don´t think so much about needs in the beginning. Focus on catching signals, mini facial expressions
  2. Order there books from Amazon that you plan to give away. I give away “Lucky by Design” and “Screw Work, Let`s Play”.
  3. Start a list of peoples needs. Write down a need you have guessed today. Archive it as a draft in your private email where only you have access.

You decide to email her a link, so she may order it from Amazon. If you feel in a more generous mood you can give people the actual book. I keep my bookshelf filled with give-away-sets of a few useful books. The other day I gave away “How to Wow” as you may see in the picture
